Signal filtration is a common "tool" in CATV systems. With the spreading of internet provisioning over cable and smaller networks without expensive CA it is still a cost-effective way to remove unwanted signal components and/or enhance wanted ones.

Designing a filter for high frequencies (5MHz to 1GHz) is a technical challenge as parasitic components aproach and further more shielding against RF signals becomes vital.
